This piece was created to pay homage to the Hurricane Hunters. They are Reserve Citizen Airmen of the 403rd Wing based at Keeler Air Force Base, MS, and are the only Dept. of Defense unit that fly into storms to collect weather data. When there is an active system in the Atlantic, these Airmen fly out of St Croix to conduct these missions.
